发明名称 Plant Cultivating Means
摘要 1,198,837. Cultivating plants. JEGGO Inc. 5 Oct., 1967, No. 45340/67. Heading A1E. A means by which plants can be grown from seeds or seedlings, without the use of the ground or other natural supplies of nutrient or water, consists of a flexible envelope 12 of water-impermeable material (e.g. polyethylene or plastics-coated Kraft paper) containing solid plant nutrient material 13 and a conduit 17 for conveying water to the plant nutrient at each location 15 therein at which a seed 14 or seedling is to grow. At each such location the envelope is so formed - e.g. has a preformed aperture 18 - that a plant grown from the seed or seedling can project e.g. its foliage from the envelope whilst its root system remains within it. Elongate tubular envelopes of the above-described form may be anchored to the ground by hook-like clamps (Figs 2 and 3 not shown) or may be supported on a rack (Fig. 7, not shown). Figs 4 to 6, 8 and 10 to 15 (not shown) depict alternative forms of envelope, in some of which each plant-emergence aperture in the envelope is surmounted, as in Fig. 9, by a transparent bag 46 within which the plant remains throughout its growth cycle. Plants are intended to remain in their envelopes until ready for harvest, after which the used envelopes may be comminuted and employed as part of the plant nutrient filling for a new set of envelopes.
