The invention relates to a sealing system for sealing a closing element, especially a door or a window pane (30) of a motor vehicle (10). Said sealing system is provided with a seal (20) produced from an elastically deformable, incompressible material. The seal (20) is fixed on a frame (40) that at least partially encloses the closing element (30) and comprises at least one sealing lip (22) that rests against the closing element (30). In order to improve the sealing system of the aforementioned type in such a way as to obtain a variable sealing effect that is adapted to environmental influences, the sealing lip (22) is provided with a piezoceramic actuator (50) and can be pressed against the closing element (30) using a voltage applied to said actuator.
