PURPOSE: A method for automatically measuring a water leakage and a leakage section in a water pipe is provided to reduce the water leakage by repairing the leakage section through automatically measuring the leakage section. CONSTITUTION: An error range caused by an aging of a flowmeter and an evaporation of water is prepared as data. In addition, a water consumption rate in each house is prepared as data. Such data are stored in a computer. If the water consumption rate is suddenly changed, the water consumption rate is automatically measured in real time, and a leakage section and an amount of water leakage are measured. If the water consumption rate exceeds a predetermined reference level, an alarm lamp and an alarm sound are operated, thereby shutting off a water inlet valve.
