PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting shock in an air bag system is provided to protect occupants when a vehicle accident occurs by preventing an air bag from being erroneously operated caused by an electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION: An upper guide(2) and a lower guide(3) are fixed to upper and lower portions of a case(1). An N-pole magnet(4) is inserted into a middle part of the upper guide(2). A front S-pole magnet(6) and a rear S-pole magnet are installed between the upper guide(2) and the lower guide(3). A front shock switch(8) and a rear shock switch(9) are installed at the front S-pole magnet(6) and rear S-pole magnet in opposition to each other. Electric wires(10,11) are connected to the front shock switch(8) and rear shock switch(9). The electric wires(10,11) extend out of the case(1) so as to be connected to a control unit of an air bag system.
