<p>An electrodeless discharge lamp device comprising an electrodeless discharge lamp (3) and a lighting circuit (4), wherein the lighting circuit (4) comprises an AC/DC conversion unit (5) for converting a phase-controlled AC voltage into a DC voltage, a DC/AC conversion unit (6) so constructed as to intermittently drive the electrodless discharge lamp (3) by means of a light-on duration for applying a high-frequency voltage to the electrodeless discharge lamp (3) to light it and a light-out duration for stopping the generation of a high-frequency voltage to turn off the lamp (3), and a dimming control unit (7) that outputs to the DC/AC conversion unit (6) an intermittent instruction signal for detecting the turn-on of the phase-controlled AC voltage to change a ratio between a light-on duration and a light-out duration, and maintains an intermittent dimming condition even during a total light dimming condition.</p> |
