VINYL-2-(1-ADAMANTYL)ALKYL ETHER AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A vinyl-2-(1-adamantyl)alkyl ether and its preparation method are provided, to obtain the vinyl-2-(1-adamantyl)alkyl ether useful as a source material for the preparation of a photocurable resin with an improved production yield. CONSTITUTION: The vinyl-2-(1-adamantyl)alkyl ether is represented by the formula 1, wherein R1 is H or an alkyl group of C1-C4; and n is an integer of 0 or more. The method comprises the step of reacting 1-adamantane alcohol and vinyl alkyl ether in the presence of mercury alkyl carboxylate to introduce an alkyl vinyl group into the 1 position of adamantane. Preferably the mercury alkyl carboxylate is mercury acetate and sulfuric acid is used as a catalyst.
