The emergency lighting uses light sources (1,1.2) which are vulcanized within the surface (3) of a rubber bicycle tire, in the form of an electroluminescent cord or an electroluminescent foil strip, supplied with current via insulated bicycle spokes from a hub dynamo, or via coils (11) vulcanized within the tire sidewalls and cooperating permanent magnets (9).
