A pre-formed monofilament line tie having two limbs 12, 13 of generally open helical formation and joined together at one end by a non-twisted loop 14, is applied to the wire or cable 22 such that the convolutioms of one limb are between the convolutions of the other limb. The line tie may be of circular wire; of metal strip; or of resin bonded glass fibre material. It may be covered by a layer of electrical insulating and/or weather proofing material. The limb ends remote from the loop 14 may terminate in portions 15, 16 that extend out-wardly and may terminate in loops for the reception of a tommy bar. |
