PURPOSE: A hydraulic unit for saving energy is provided to save energy by decreasing the rpm of a motor when a hydraulic cylinder keeps pressure. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic unit for saving energy is composed of an oil tank(6), a controller(20) generating a hydraulic control signal, a variable switched reluctance motor(12) operating according to the hydraulic control signal, and a fixed-capacity type pump(14) operating according to an output signal of the variable switched reluctance motor and supplying oil in the oil tank to a pipe. The controller decreases the rpm of the variable switched reluctance motor when a hydraulic cylinder keeps pressure, and increases the rpm of the variable switched reluctance motor when the hydraulic cylinder is operated.
