A buckle for connecting a harness belt 21 to a lap belt 17, 17' in a swivellable manner consists of a tapering slot 33 in a plate 36 connected to the harness belt which receives a swivel-post 31 standing up from a base plate 29 linking the lap belt ends, the post 31 having a circumferential groove 67 engaged by spring- loaded jaws 35 to retain it in the slot 33. The jaws are pivotted on pins 39 and are pressed in by manual pressure on arms 41 which are bent over (at 71, Fig. 6, not shown) to house a leaf return spring 57 (as shown dotted in Fig. 3). The base plate and swivel post may be on the harness belt and the latch assembly may be on the lap belt. |
