Increasing the Vitamin E content of plants, or their tissues, organs, parts, cells or replicative products, comprises transgenic expression of a protein (2) of 151 amino acids (sequence reproduced) or its functional equivalent with at least 60% identity. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) transgenic expression construct (EC) comprising a sequence (A) that encodes (2), or its functional equivalent, under control of a promoter functional in plants; (2) transgenic expression vector that includes EC; and (3) transgenic plants (or their tissues, organs, parts, cells or replicative products) that contain EC or the vector of item (2).
