PURPOSE: A drum type washing machine is provided to decrease the use amount of detergent and washing water consumption, and to prevent environmental pollution by directly injecting clean water or washing water including detergent to the laundry. CONSTITUTION: A drum washing machine is composed of a tub(54) supported in a case(52); a drum(58) rotating in the tub, and containing the laundry for washing; a detergent container(68) forming the water supply passage for washing and storing the detergent; a water container(82) storing washing water from the detergent container; an injection pipe(84) injecting washing water from the water container; an injection duct(86) guiding water from the injection pipe to the laundry in the drum; a blower(88) blowing air into the water container and to the injection pipe of the injection duct; and a switching valve(90) switching the air passage between the blower and the injection pipe of the injection duct. Washing efficiency is improved by supplying atomized water or water stream in washing or rinsing with regulating the nozzle of the injection pipe and changing the air passage.
