<p>The invention concerns a tyre for vehicles transporting heavy loads comprising, in at least one bead (1) an additional reinforcement (1) consisting of a plurality of discontinuous reinforcing elements (920, 921, 922), said discontinuous reinforcing elements being of substantially circumferential orientation to form a plurality of circles (C, C1, C2) concentric to the axis of rotation of the tyre mounted on its rim, each circle being defined by a mean radius (R, R1, R2) measured relative to said axis of rotation. Said tyre is characterized in that: each discontinuous reinforcing element (920) of length L0 located on a circle C of radius R is mechanically coupled over coupling lengths (L11) and (L12) with two discontinuous reinforcing elements (921) located on a circle C1 of radius R1, circle immediately adjacent to the circle C, the coupling length L11 ranging between 10 and 25 % of L0; each discontinuous reinforcing element of the same circle C of radius R is mechanically coupled over coupling lengths (L21) and (L22) with two discontinuous reinforcing elements (922) located on a circle C2 of radius R2 immediately adjacent to the circle C1, the coupling length L21 ranging between 15 to 35 % of L0 and the coupling length L22 ranging between 50 to 70 % of L0.</p> |
