The positioning holder for a premature infant has a ribbed mattress of a cruciform shape with vertical and horizontal arms which can be rolled up to the crossing point. The horizontal sections have end pockets (19,20) with a cross quilt (16,17) extending from the pockets to the vertical cross arm. The upper part of the holder has a laterally extending head section (9,10) defining a pocket.
