The setting device provides precise horizontal adjustment of a rear view mirror housed in a protective housing, for ensuring visibility of a pedestrian or bicyclist, upon operation of the steering wheel, using the movement of the vehicle front wheels to the left or right. The setting movement of the rear view mirror can be effected via a 12 V DC motor.
