The keyless access control device uses an onboard transceiver (2) operating in the HF range, having at least one slit antenna (3,4,5) for transmission and reception of HF signals and a mobile transponder (6), similarly provided with a HF transceiver. The slit antenna is screened from the interior of the automobile (1) by a metal wall, e.g. by incorporating the antenna in the metal outer skin of the automobile.
