A casting weight is releasably secured to a fishing line by means of a hook 1 attached to the fishing line and a line 3 carrying the weight and engaging the hook so that it stresses a spring 2 in its stretched condition. When the weight line slackens the spring 2 pushes it off the hook. In an embodiment the hook is formed as a lateral projection on a fish hook or as a lateral projection on a straight shank the spring then being in the form of a sleeve covering the projection and the shank. |
