The valve housing (1) has an inlet (4) and outlet (5) and a valve seat (2) with interacting valve closing body (3). A valve drive mounted outside of the valve housing is connected mechanically to the valve closing body through an opening (8) in the wall of the housing. The valve drive can be connected to the valve closing body by gearing having a gearwheel which engages in the toothing of the valve closing body. The valve drive can have an electric motor drive.
