The padding 1 of an arm rest is supported internally, on the inside of a vehicle wall, by means of a resilient C-shaped steel band 2, having fixing holes 6. Lugs 7 are bent over inwardly to prevent the edge of the band 2 from cutting into the underside of the padding 1. The band 2 is made narrower, at the curved ends 4, and weakened at notches 9, so that it breaks, at the notches, when subjected to undue force in the direction of the arrow 11. |
