<p>The garment stiffening fabric (1) is a non-woven (2) reinforced by a knitted structure (3) with a number of stiffening yarns and especially a twisted yarn (4) along a warp direction and between the wales. The reinforcement yarns (4) are plain and/or with floats, and are on at least one side of the stiffening fabric (1) at intervals equal to a stitch length. The floats have a length of several stitches and preferably 2-5 stitches. The reinforcement yarns (4) are spread evenly over the fabric (1) surface. The float reinforcements are filaments along the warp line and between the stitches equal to at least two rows of stitches. The floating filaments next to each other are offset longitudinally by a float length. The non-woven (2) is of bonded or lightly bonded fibers using natural, synthetic or man-made continuous fibers. The reinforcement yarns (4) are at the surface of the non-woven (2) opposite to the knitted layer (3). The yarns for the knitted layer (3) are plain and of natural materials and especially cellulose, or they are synthetic or mixed. The yarns can be textured multi-filaments. At least one reinforcement yarn (4) or a number of yarns is laid for each wale, or they are at every second, third or fourth wales. At least one surface of the fabric has an adhesive or fusible coating, in lines or dot points. An Independent claim is included for an application of the interlining where the interlining is positioned on the main line of the shirt collar or at right angles to its main direction. Preferred Features: The interlining (1) is inserted between the upper and lower collar fabric layers at the collar band or at the collar lining.</p> |
