Once the rails (3) are lifted clear, overlapping webs of sealing film (2) are laid in the track cross-direction and joined together in their overlap regions using adhesive. A method for covering a surface beneath a railway track, e.g. the upper side of a train viaduct (1), comprises lifting the rails clear of the surface, unrolling several webs of sealing film in the track cross-direction so that adjacent webs overlap with each other, bonding the webs together in the overlap regions using adhesive and placing the rails back into position. An Independent claim is also included for a sealing film, especially one suitable for use in the above method. |
