(57) The invention concerns a unit (1) for making plaster boards in the form of connected modules (9, 19, 20, 24), transportable in standard containers. Said unit mainly comprises connected modules in a hydration station (3) and connected modules in a drying oven (7). The invention also concerns a method for transforming such a manufacturing installation, which consists in connecting additional hydration modules (9) on the hydration station (3) and in increasing the driving speed of the hydration station (3), and then in connecting additional drying modules so as to increase global production capacity. The invention also enables the use of a drying station using different types of fuel.
