The proposed method for calibrating and checking gas meters consists in measuring the gas pressure and temperature, for the specified period of time, in the reservoir with gas and at the inlet of the checked gas meter, to which gas is supplied from the reservoir via a pressure controller, and calculating the gas flow rate by the specified algorithm. The method is distinctive by compensating the consumption of gas that is supplied from the reservoir by an additional compressed gas source. The pressure at the outlet of the pressure regulator is determined with consideration for the characteristics of the checked gas meter and the volumetric gas flow rate through the meter.
