Strengthening road surface with open surface structure by laying asphalt concrete layer, comprises adding bitumen emulsion to asphalt concrete

A layer of asphalt concrete containing a bitumen emulsion is laid. The road surface (8) and asphalt concrete both have a mean particle size distribution specifically chosen to provide an open surface structure. The mean particle size distribution in the road surface is at least four times greater that in the asphalt concrete layer laid on top of the road surface. An independent claim is also included for asphalt concrete used to strengthen road surfaces with open surface structures, comprising a binder, cement, stones with a particle size distribution of 0.1-3 mm and a bitumen emulsion.
