<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover copper ions by adding a ketoxime derivative to a solution containing copper ions and having a pH higher than a specified value, recovering the resultant copper chelate compound, and isolating copper ions from the chelate compound. SOLUTION: Copper ions are selectively recovered from a solution having a pH higher than 2.5 by using a compound represented by the formula (wherein R1 is a 1-12C linear or branched alkyl group; and R2 is a 1-12C linear or branched alkyl group or a phenyl group). The recovering method comprises adding the compound to a solution containing copper ions, recovering the resultant copper chelate compound, and isolating copper ions from the chelate compound. Preferably, the solution containing copper ions has a pH of 10 or lower and is an aqueous ammonia solution. Preferably, the recovery of the chelate compound is carried out by extraction with an organic solvent and the isolation of copper ions from the chelate compound, by back extraction with a dilute aqueous acid solution.</p> |
