<p>The present invention relates to novel modified carpet yarns having reduced thermal shrinkage, increased stiffness, improved wear performance and decreased flammability. More specifically this invention relates to carpet fibers modified with miscible and immiscible amorphous polymers and therefore capable of rendering improved physical properties and therefore suitable for the production of saxony carpets with improved appearance retention and durability.</p> |
