There is provided a method for annotating a 3D graphical data object, the method comprising: identifying at least one spatial position or region of the graphical data object; providing annotation information associated with the at least one spatial position or region, the at least one spatial position or region and the associated annotation information forming an embedded graphical object (EGO); and defining a view of the graphical data object; generating a display of the view of the graphical data object and of at least some of the EGO's within the desired view.
