1,216,524. Controlling and indicating furnace conditions. SIEMENS A.G. 14 March, 1968 [15 March, 1967], No. 12557/68. Heading F4B. An arrangement for controlling the fuel supply system either manually or automatically of an installation including a steam boiler comprises ascertaining the momentary limits to any variation in load on the boiler which are regarded as allowable and taking into account the speed at which such variations can be carried out without damaging the boiler, the arrangement being such that the essential criteria governing permissible variations of the fuel supply are subjected to continuous monitoring thereby. An analogue unit calculates the maximum permissible load variations and temperature limits and signals representing these values are fed to a time delay unit wherein they are plotted in accordance with a curve showing the relationship of output to input of the boiler. The arrangement therefore will change the limit normally set to the demand signals and also the speed at which can be answered in accordance with the conditions existing both at that time and having a previous history of being possible without boiler damage. |
