PURPOSE: An electron gun is provided to achieve improved resolution of cathode ray tube by minimizing the change of electron beam travel path caused due to the fluctuation of focus voltage. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a cathode(20), a first electrode(22), a second electrode(24), a third electrode(26), a focus front electrode(28), a fourth electrode(30) serving as a focus electrode, a focus rear electrode disposed in the fourth electrode, and a fifth electrode(32) serving as a final electrode. The first to third electrodes, focus front electrode, focus electrode, focus rear electrode and the fifth electrode have three apertures for passage of red, green and blue beams. The distance(S) measured from the center of a G-beam aperture(31) of the focus electrode to the centers of an R-beam aperture(33) and a B-beam aperture(35) of the focus electrode is larger than the distance(S2) measured from the center of a G-beam aperture(37) of the focus front electrode to the centers of an R-beam aperture(39) and a B-beam aperture(41) of the focus front electrode.
