A toner container (1) used with a developing device (2) in an image forming apparatus comprises a toner accommodating portion for accommodating toner; a stirring member for stirring toner in the toner accommodating portion; a plurality or toner supplying openings (11) for supplying toner to the developing device; a sliding cover (13) adapted for closing/opening the plurality or toner supplying openings (11) and projection a plurality or means (15) protruding from a plurality of apertures (4) provided in the sliding cover (13). These projections engage toner receiving openings (21) of the developing device (2) and enables the toner container to be moved relative to the sliding cover and the developing device to close/open the toner supplying openings.
