A number of fuel cells (29) lie in the middle and are braced with each other by using a disk spring system (27). There are ports (7,9,11,13) and distributing devices (15,17,19) in end plates (3,5) that have cavities (21,23,25) for reducing weight and acting as channels to the fuel cells. Fluids like fuel or coolants reach a fuel cell stack (1) via the ports. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A mixing device in a fuel cell system for mixing a fuel current with drop-shaped water; (b) and for a method for apportioning water into a fuel current in a fuel cell.
