A connector detachably holds a memory card (1) and connects terminals formed on a terminal face (1a) of the memory card (1) to terminals on the side of a substrate (21) in a manner where data are exchangeable. The connector has terminal face contact portions (3) that are in contact with the terminal face (1a) of the memory card (1), a housing (2) having guide walls (4, 4) that rise from both end portions in the width direction of the terminal face contact portions (3) and position the memory card (1) in its with direction, and tabs (10) having elastic support pieces (12, 12) at their respective upper and lower sides. The tabs (4, 4) are externally fitted on the guide walls (4) so as to sandwich the upper and lower sides of the guide walls (4, 4) by the support pieces (12, 12), so that the tabs are provided on the individual guide walls (4, 4). Both end portions in the width direction of the memory card (1) is pressed to the terminal face contact portions (3) by the support pieces (12).
