<p>A method of operating a mobile communications system in a public communications network (4), the network interconnecting a plurality of mobile communication devices (3) and a transaction server computer (2) having transaction server memory (5) with user details relating to each of the mobile communication devices (3) stored thereon, the mobile communication devices (3) making call credit purchasing requests to the transaction server computer (2) which in turn processes the call credit purchasing request in accordance with the user details stored in transaction server memory (5) and clears payment of the call credit purchasing request with a Financial Institution Computer (6) before sending call credit information to the mobile communications device. In this way, users of the system may top-up their call credit at any time without having to rely on third parties.</p> |
