The display device has at least one flat display (1) attached to the automobile roof (3), on the inside of the passenger compartment (4) and a cooperating deflection mirror (2), allowing a seated passenger to view the display. The deflection mirror may be pivoted and adjusted automatically in dependence on the detected head position of the seated passenger.
