The automatic goods storage and output device has a storage device (20,40,50) for a number of different types of goods units to be output, a selection device for goods units to be output, an output device (7) and a controller for controlling the output device depending on the selected goods unit. The controller has an output detection device for detecting and storing the type and number of output goods units. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a method of output detection of a number of and type of goods units for an automatic goods storage and output device.
