The invention relates to a device (10) for machining workpieces (12), especially for chip removing machining. Said device comprises a spindle (22) which is mounted on a first end of a pivoting arm (24) in such a way that it can be linearly displaced in a direction (X) parallel to the rotation axis o f the spindle, and a console (20) on which the pivoting arm (24) is mounted by its second end in such a way that it can rotate about an axis (X2) parallel to the rotation axis of the spindle.
