A BUFFERED, LIQUID NICOTINE COMPOSITION FOR PULMONARY ADMINISTRATION

The composition consists of liquid pharmaceutical formulation comprising nicotine in any form for administration essentially to the lungs. The formulation is acidified and/or alkalized by buffering and/or pH regulation, which provides a tmax of nicotine in arterial blood of a subject within a short period of time after administration. The administration preferably implies spraying an aerosol into the oral cavity for further distribution, essentially to the lungs. A method for manufacturing the formulation is also included, as well as use of the formulation in therapy, e.g. for treating addiction to tobacco.
