CONTROL OF A LINEAR LIGHTING ARRAY

A method for controlling a linear array of light sources by selecting a subset of pixels in an input image and controlling the light sources according to the status of the pixels selected. A line of pixels may be scanned across an image, the line of pixels at a certain time determining the output of a line of light sources at a corresponding time. In a further aspect a set of mathematical rules are defined to govern the dynamic properties of the status of each light source. For example a given status condition can be moved along an array of light sources at a certain velocity, according to a set of mathematical rules.
