A continually operated textile (8) stretching frame has inlet and outlet slits (5) to a heat treatment chamber (1). The chamber has longitudinal sidewalls (11, 12) parallel to the direction of textile web travel (9). The sidewalls esp. incorporate inspection hatches (13, 14) which slide vertically up and down. Each lift/lower door (13, 14) provides access to a window aperture (18).
