The absorber for solar collectors comprises an absorber plate (4) upon which is installed an adaptor profile (5) in which the absorber tube (2) captively fits. An at least partial surface contact is provided between the absorber tube and adaptor profile. The adaptor profile may be welded to the absorber plate, or a mechanical connection may be provided between them. The absorber tube may be pressed into the adaptor profile through natural deformation. The absorber tube has as far as possible a circular cylindrical initial shape.
