The basis access point (1) has 2 component groups (2,3) mechanically and electrically coupled together via a releasable coupling element and at least one electrical plug-in connection (10,11,25,26), with electronic devices (22,23) for controlling the data traffic between a cordless network and a fixed line data network connected to the basis access point via an installation cable. One of the component groups incorporates the electronics, the other incorporating the connection interface (12), the interconnections between them provided by the plug-in connections.
