TWIN MAST SAIL RIG

A twin mast sail rig includes two masts (3, 4) mounted on the port and starboard sides of the vessel (1P, 1S) supported by two forestays (5, 6) and two backstays (7, 8) that cross to terminate at the bow and stern of the opposite side of the hull(s). A compression strut (9) couples the masts at the points were the forestay and backstay attach. Each mast is able to rotate about its vertical access, together with its boom and sail.
