The inventive device for filtering fluids that are conveyed under a high pressure is easy to maintain while having a filtering surface that is distinctly larger than that of conventional high-pressure filters and withstanding the highest pressure loads. To this end, the device is provided with an inflow opening (21), an outflow opening (24) and a metallic housing (2), which surrounds a filtration chamber (23) and which has a servicing opening (3, 4). This servicing opening is closed by a metallic cover (14, 15) that, while under an application force, sits on an edge section (5, 6) that surrounds the servicing opening (3, 4) while being in direct contact with the metal of the housing (2). The edge surface (7, 8) of the edge section (5, 6), said edge surface being assigned to the cover (14, 15), runs in a slanted manner between its inner delimiting edge (10), which is assigned to the servicing opening (3, 4), and its outer delimiting edge (12) in such a manner that the edge surfaces (7, 8) form an angle (13), which is different from 90 DEG , both with the inner surface (9) and the outer surface (11) of edge sections (5, 6) where these surfaces are adjoined to the respective edge surfaces (7, 8), and the contact surface between the cover (14, 15) and the edge section (5, 6) is limited to a fraction of the edge surface (7, 8). A filtering element (26), through which the fluid flows along its path from the inflow opening (21) to the outflow opening (24), is arranged inside the filtration chamber (23).
