SELF EMISSION LIGHT DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING PICTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A self emission light display and a method for protecting a picture thereof are provided to prevent deterioration of pixels even in the case that a screen of a self emission light display displays still pictures for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A resolution converter(50) converts various resolutions of input video signals into a fixed resolution of a display device for controlling output of the input video signals transmitted to a display driving unit(70). The display driving unit displays the input video signals of the fixed resolution on a flat panel display(80). A mean signal measuring unit(60) measures a mean signal amount of the input video signals output from the resolution converter for outputting a signal controlling restricting the video signal output of the resolution converter during a predetermined frame in the case that the amount of the mean signal is longer than a certain threshold time and is continuous. The flat panel display displays still pictures or motion pictures output from the display driving unit.
