A clamp grip for securing and releasing threaded fittings, e.g. oil filters in vehicles, threaded covers for food containers etc., has a plastic moulded handgrip (2) with an elastic strap (4) anchored with end into the top of the grip and with the other end looped around the component and with the free end slid through a duct (14) in the handgrip and into an open duct through the hand grip (16). The top of the moulded handgrip has grip edges with grip ridges (10, 12) enabling the clamp to be operated in either direction. The strap is further secured by a bend in the locking duct.
