The outer end (3) of the steel rope (2) is inserted into the cylindrical bore (12) in the center of a ball-shaped element (1) and secured by pressure acting towards the center of the element (1). The shape of the small element (1) provides a comparatively large pressure area (10) resulting in a reliable clamping force. The element (1) can be used as a ball joint in combination with a matching socket, if required.
