<p>A method of making a moulded component (for example a door) comprises placin g a core (1) comprising at least one slab of foam material into one half of a mould (4,5)with LPSMC (2), closing the mould and applying pressure and heat to render the LPSMC fluid to at least partially envelop the core (1) and thereb y produce a LPSMC coated component, wherein the core has at least one cavity ( 6) which extends across the width thereof and which has at least a portion whic h is inboard of the intended outer edge (10) of the component, whereby causing the LPSMC to flow into said at least one cavity (6) to form a bridge between the sides of the so-formed component. The foam material may have a portion with a density in excess of 250 kgm<sp>-3</sp>. The core may com prise two slabs of material with a density in excess of 250 kgm <sp>-3</sp> ;either side of a lower-density core material.</p> |
