1,194,708. Laminated corrugated boards. PALSON CORP. A.B. 15 June, 1967 [20 June, 1966], No. 27757/67. Heading B5N. Corrugated board is manufactured by corrugating a paper web 8, this web, or smooth paper webs 11 and 12, or all, being coated with fusbile material, and applying to the coated web or webs, e.g. by nozzles 9, streams of hot air to melt the coating or coatings as the webs are brought into contact with one another so as to unite the crests of the corrugated web with the smooth web or webs. The corrugations may be produced by toothed cylinders 7 which may be heated to facilitate bending of the coating which is preferably of a mixture of thermoplastics and waxes having a melting point of about 65‹ to 85‹ C. The webs are united under the action of rolls 10 but, if desired, further rolls in an electric oven may be used to reduce the thickness of the laminate to a predetermined value. |
