FRICTION SENSOR

A friction sensor for determining the coefficient of friction of a subject surface. The friction sensor has a housing having an upper panel and test surface mounted on a platform movable in a vertical direction from an upper position co-planar with the upper panel and a lower position within the housing. A sensor assembly having a rotating member senses the amount of rotation of the rotating member over the test surface in order to determine the test surface's friction. The friction sensor may be embedded in the subject surface and controlled from a remote location.
