The invention relates to a switching arrangement for back-up accumulators, especially for an auxiliary battery (HB) for a battery, especially a starter battery (SB) for a motor vehicle. In order to maintain operation in the event of a failure of the starter battery (SB), the batteries (SB, HB) can be interlinked via a controlled switch (V1) that is open in the normal operation. A sensor (Tp3) controls the voltage of the starter battery (SB) and a circuit element, for example a comparator (K3), evaluates the signals of said sensor.
